Definition of Internet Marketing

Simply put, the definition of Internet marketing is the process of promoting another company’s products for a commission. Internet marketing is very much similar to other forms of offline marketing in that you have to different elements: a consumer and a product.
Your job as an Internet marketer is to coordinate these two elements together in order to drive sales to either your own website or an affiliate website. You don’t need to have your own product to start because there are thousands of companies that are looking for affiliate marketers to promote their products online in exchange for a commission.
There are many different methods on how companies will pay you, but basically companies will either give you a percentage of the sale or a considerable amount of money for any sale or lead that you generate.
Understanding the basic definition of Internet marketing is very important and that’s one of the first things I’ve learned at the 8-week action plan of Wealthy Affiliate.
